In a spirited display of talent and resilience, the St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) U-14 Boys’ team traveled to Trinidad and Tobago from August 16th to 19th, 2024, to compete in the CFU Boys U14 Challenge Series. SVG was placed in a competitive Tier II Group A alongside Barbados, Antigua, Guyana, and Cayman Islands, where they showcased a mix of skill, determination, and teamwork throughout the tournament.

The competition kicked off with SVG facing Barbados in a challenging opening match. Despite their best efforts, the boys fell to Barbados, who proved formidable opponents in the first game. Nevertheless, SVG used the experience as motivation to improve their strategy and solidify team cohesion.

SVG’s comeback started strong in their next match against the Cayman Islands, where they secured a decisive victory. The team’s confidence grew with each play, and the boys dominated the field, displaying tactical brilliance and resilience. Following this victory, SVG went on to face Antigua, where they secured another well-earned win, proving their strength and adaptability in the tournament.

In the final group match against Guyana, SVG fought tenaciously and held their ground in a closely contested game, ending in a draw. The tie added a vital point to SVG’s tally, bringing their total to seven points and earning them second place in their group. This outstanding performance secured SVG’s spot as the runner-up in Tier II Group A.

Finishing with seven points, SVG’s U-14 team demonstrated the hard work, discipline, and potential that went into their preparations.
